Work in Maine

THE PROBLEM:These days it is really hard to find a good job around Maine, even if you get a job you either don't like it or you just aren't making enough money to pay for your expenses. A good example is around Peru, Rumford, Dixfield area. If you don't work in the mill you work as a teacher or at a convient store. With the prices in economic shooting up so fast you need a higher paying job. Gas is at $4.10 and rising. Also, kids like myself that are just getting there license and getting to the age where they have to start paying for things if your parents don't hand stuff to you its hard to do things thats you want, no one wants to hire kids. I think that there should be more job opportunities and the minimum wage should go up. since it is only fair because everything else is going up not only gas, but clothes, food, and just all around living expenses.

SOLVING THE PROBLEM: Really there isn't much each indivual can do to change this. I guess what we can do is hope that eventually the minimum wage will go up and there will be more job opportunites. If we got a big enough group together to complain then that might work, but hopefully over time it will click that people can't live on 7 dollars an hour. Think of a family with 5 kids dad making minimum wage and so isn't mom, they aren't going to be able to afford what there children need.

Gas prices

Gas prices are always rising. A lot of people can't afford to go out and drive around anymore. A good majority of people would like to see the gas prices come back down.

I think that they should go down, we shouldn't have to spend all our money on gas. Some people only make minimum wage. If you are making 8 dollars an hour, you can put 2 gallons in your car which will get you no where and you basically just put one hour of hard work into your gas tank, it is ridiculous and they need to come down.

Vacation

I will probably find a job first of all, hangout with friends, drink some soda, order parts for my fourwheeler maybe even ride some, eat food, enjoy the spring weather, and go fishing.

Weather for 3/4/08

Weather report from WCSH6

Very mild air moved into our region Monday. Portland started the day at 11 degrees and then made it all the way up to 39 degrees by late in the afternoon. The warm air won't be with us for very long as a cold front is expected to move through here during the day today. As it does so look for showers to develop and then much colder air for Tuesday night. Then with the cold air in place an area of low pressure will head our way bringing a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain that is going to make Wednesday morning's commute a real nightmare. Warmer air is expected to move back in here during the day Wednesday but before that happens we could be looking at some significant icing on top of several inches of snow which may lead to falling branches and power outages.

My perdiction:
I think that we will have at least a two hour delay if not no school at all because its supposed to be mostly ice and ice is the worst to drive in.
